Draupadi Murmu Biography

Draupadi Murmu was born on 20 June 1958 A.D. in a Santali tribal family in the Mayurbhanj district of Odisha. Both his father and grandfather were associated with the politics of the Panchayati ruling system. After completing his primary and secondary education, Draupadi Murmu first started his teaching career as a school teacher and during this time he worked as an assistant professor at the Sri Aurobindo Institute in Rairangpur, Odisha.

Apart from this, Draupadi Murmu also worked as a Junior Assistant in the Irrigation Department of the Government of Orissa. And after that, Draupadi Murmu entered politics. In 1997 A.D, Draupadi Murmu joined the Bharatiya Janata Party and contested for the post of councilor from Rairangpur Nagar Panchayat, from where Draupadi Murmu was also separated and for the next two years, Murmu held the responsibility of the same panchayat as a chairperson.

Seeing his active in politics, Draupadi Murmu was made the National Vice President of BJP's Schedule Tribes Morcha. For the Odisha Assembly Elections of the year, 2000 A.D, Murmu took his political career a step further by standing for the post of MLA and was elected from Rairangpur Assembly Constituency.

Between March 2000 A.D and 2002 A.D, Draupadi Murmu was also entrusted with the responsibility of Minister of Commerce in the Transportation Department and since 2002 A.D, Draupadi Murmu also handled the Ministry of Fisheries and Animal Resource Development. In recognition of Murmu's work during his tenure as a member of the Legislative Assembly, Draupadi Murmu was also awarded the Neelkanth Award for Best MLA. After this, in the year 2004 A.D., it was again taken as a MLA.

On the other hand, from 2006 A.D to 2009 A.D, along with the BJP President of the Mayurbhanj District, Draupadi Murmu also worked as the State President of BJP Schedule Tribe Morcha. Everything was going well in Murmu's political life, but suddenly there were some big problems in his personal life, which made him desperate. Draupadi Murmu's son died due to an accident in the year 2009 A.D.

Due to this, her mental health was greatly affected and Draupadi Murmu remained in depression for a long time. Shortly after this, in the year 2013 A.D., Draupadi Murmu lost her second son as well and a few months later her husband also died. And it is natural for anyone to go into depression after these incidents.

According to Draupadi, to get out of this depressive mental zone, Draupadi Murmu joined the Brahma Kumari organization, which helped her a lot, and after getting out of this terrible situation, Draupadi Murmu started working again on her goal of serving the public and 18 in 2015 Draupadi Murmu took oath as the Governor of Jharkhand. Draupadi's oath was not only a matter of pride for her community, but it was also a matter of pride for the entire tribal society of Odisha.

Because Draupadi Murmu was the first woman tribal of Odisha. Draupadi Murmu was appointed as the governor. Along with this, Murmu was also the first woman to hold the responsibility as the Governor of Jharkhand, and in this way, taking oath as Governor became a matter of pride for women as well.

During her tenure, Draupadi also refused many such bills which had got approval from the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly. Along with this, while serving as Governor, Murmu carried forward many of his initiatives through video conferencing during the time of CoronaIt was during his tenure that Murmu announced that after his death his eyes would be donated to Kashyap Memorial Eye Hospital in Ranchi, and finally, considering Draupadi Murmu's diplomatic work ethics and visionary goals, Draupadi Murmu was elected as President of India in 2022 A.D.
