Suman Karki Biography 

A limited number of contestants from thousands have made their journey through various stages of the Comedy Champion competition program. Suman Karki was also a strong competitor among them. Unfortunately, Suman Karki was unable to defeat the competitor contestant (Reached up to the top Five contestants) but able to carve himself as a popular comedian among the sight of Nepalese audiences.

Suman Karki was born in a middle-class family (Poush 6, 2050 B.S) from father Mohan Kumar Karki and mother Rukh Meena Karki in Manebhanjyang Ward No. 2 of Okhaldhunga District. He is the second child in the order of children. He has one elder brother and one younger sister. According to his mother, Suman was a mischievous, laughing nature since childhood, but we never thought that one day he would embrace the field of comedy.

Suman Karki got his primary education from Okhaldhunga and did his college education at Urlabari Multiple colleges. Similarly, Suman Karki Completed his bachelor's degree education from Patan Multiple Campus. Likewise, a Master's degree in sociology was his last education qualification.

There were no television and movie-watching facilities in Okhaldhunga. Radio was the only means of entertainment apart from the school haystack. When he migrated with his family in 2064 B.S. and came to Itari in Morang district, only then did Suman Karki get opportunities to watch television and movies. When he watched various comedy series broadcast on television, his inherent talent began to blossom. Similarly, The comic scenes shown in the movie also inspired him to enter this field.

Suman does not have such juicy stories of struggle, even if he sleeps hungry or has to walk on the street for food, but he is not an artist who has reached this stage without struggle.

Suman Karki remembers his first comedy performance when he was studying in 12th grade, he did a caricature of senior leader KP Sharma Oli, while in the reception program on campus. Suman Karki was inspired by the character of the ward president played by Sitaram Kattel (Dhurmus)  in the caricature of KP Oli in the Meri Bassai Teleseries.

After watching the Comedy Performance on-campus reception Program, there was a good response from the friends and teachers who watched that. Encouraged by that response, he continued in this field. In various Cultural programs and various gatherings held in the villages, he got successful in giving various performances and was able to earn love and affection from the audience.

Most parents do not want their children to be involved in such an art field. Suman Karki was also pressured by her family to take a government job for a secure future.

His family background is that of a national servant in the army. His grandfather, brother, and sister-in-law are also in this occupation. So Suman was told by his grandfather that he should join the army, but Suman's passion was in the field of comedy. But Later, Suman Karki established himself in this comedy field and was determined to succeed professionally.

When he came to Kathmandu to study higher education 7 years ago, his talent got an opportunity to flourish. As soon as he came to Kathmandu, he got an opportunity to conduct a comedy show on Radio Audio. Besides, he was also the host of a popular program called Photocopy on the local Sunakhari FM through Morang. He used that experience and idea in Radio Audio.

His talent has always been appreciated wherever and whenever. Many viewers have expressed their happiness after watching his performance, and established leading actors in the comedy field are also praising and encouraging.

When he was in the stage of struggle. However, he is still struggling. Previously, with a salary of 400 rupees, he advanced in this field as a professional, and now he earns thousands just for performing.

Not only this, but he is also sending expenses at home from time to time. After coming to Kathmandu, he got an opportunity to work with Jitu Nepal in the popular comedy series Jere Khursani. But the character played in that series did not establish him that much. 

Later, Suman Karki participated as a contestant in the Comedy Champion reality show but was unable to win the crown of Comedy Champion. 

Suman Karki's success is increasing more than yesterday and today than yesterday. He has reached as far as Assam in India for the performance and he has often reached all the districts of Nepal while performing with senior artist Harivansh Acharya.

Initially, he made his debut in the comedy field by doing caricatures, but now he focuses less on caricatures and more on content. Because he thinks content is more treacherous and long-term.

While he is active in the field of comedy, now he is not able to give as much time to his studies as he said. Having studied sociology for a master's degree, he is trying to bring this field of education and art together.

He takes this field of art seriously. To improve his skills, he studies the essays of Bhairav ​​Aryal three times over and over again. He likes the irony and blind sense of beauty inherent in Aryal's essays.

Understanding that humor is not just a vulgar joke, he is sure that he can play an important role in building a civilized society by striking a serious blow on social distortions and anomalies through his sense of humor.

His role presented in the last Gaijatra was liked by many audiences and art connoisseurs have started seeing him as a good actor of tomorrow.

In the field of the comedy genre, Suman Karki also says that he rises above the traditional style and uses new ones, saying that humor plays an important role in life.

Nowadays Suman Karki is staying and studying in Kathmandu and can find appear in comedy Reality Shows like a Comedy club with Champions and in various stage programs.
