Rajendra Prasad Lingden is a Nepali politician who is currently the president of the Rashtriya Prajatantra Party.

Rajendra Lingden was born on September 7, 1965 in Dhungesanghu, Taplejung.  Although Lingden was born in Taplejung and his ancestral village was Panchthar, his work land was in Jhapa. The sowing of his politics was from the Jhapa district. The fact that he was born in Taplejung and became a politician from Jhapa was just a coincidence for him because he did politics for the Rashtriya Prajatantra Party.

Rajendra Lingdel, who entered politics at a young age in 2036 B.S, was famous from his student days in Jhapa. At that time, he joined the nationalist independent student movement.

His political leader from earlier was Kamal Thapa. Because when he entered politics, Kamal Thapa was the president of the Nationalist Independent Student Union.

Later, the student organization he was affiliated with was disbanded. Then the National Democratic Student Organization was formed. Lingden became its founding chairman. After that, Lingden was elected ward president in the local elections of 2049 B.S.

Similarly, Rajendra Prasad Lingden was also re-elected as the ward chairman in the local elections of 2054 B.S. Lingden had previously been the party secretary of the RPPA Since 2047 B.S.

Rajendra Lingden also became the Chairman of the District Development Committee Jhapa in 2060 B.S.

Lingden was defeated in Jhapa Region No. 3 in the 2056 B.S parliamentary elections. At that time he got the third place vote.

Then in 2066 B.S, Lingden became a central member of RPP Nepal. 

Similarly, Lingden came second in the 2070 B.S. election and had to be defeated. At that time too, he was defeated by Nepali Congress leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula.

Krishna Prasad Sitaula, who worked under the leadership of Girija Prasad Koirala, is considered to be Koirala's right-hand man who brought Maoists, UML and other parties together.

After that, he won the 2074 B.S election and managed to preserve the reputation of RPP in the parliament. At that time, he defeated Sitaula of Congress by a huge margin. He got 44614 votes.

In 2021, Lingden was elected as the President of the Rashtriya Prajatantra Party after defeating Kamal Thapa. Lingden got 1 thousand 844 votes and Kamal Thapa got 1 thousand 617 votes. A total of 413 votes have been invalidated. Thapa congratulated Lingden on his victory by tweeting that he would accept defeat.

Similarly, in 2022, Rajendra Lingden, president of the Rashtriya Prajatantra Party, was elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Jhapa-3. This is his second consecutive victory in that region.

Lingden defeated Nepali Congress leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula by a margin of 3,276 votes. According to the final results, Lingden got 40 thousand 648 votes while Sitaula got 37 thousand 372 votes.

Although he belongs to the tribal Limbu caste, he has been known as a leader against caste reservation. In education, Abbal Lyngdale holds a Masters in Political Science and History.
