For the first time in Nepal, the competitive reality show 'Chef Nepal' related to the art of cooking is going to start next November. The winner of the competition, which will be broadcast on Himalaya Television, will receive a prize of 25 lakh rupees, informed the producer of Safe Nepal, Dharmaraj Pandey.
The initial announcement of the reality show was made last April. "After that, we took the applications of competitors along with internal preparation and market promotion", said Pandey.
According to him, out of more than 200 applications submitted online, 80 people have been selected. "Chef Nepal is an international cooking show", producer Pandey said, "Food connoisseurs who have been watching Indian TV shows including Sanjeev Kapoor's Khana Khazana, BBC's MasterChef, Gordon Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen, will now enjoy Nepal's own show."
He said that this show will represent Nepali food culture and balance to the world.
The judges of the show are Chef Ganesh Dhakal, and Bhanse Laxman Bhandari. Actress Priyanka Karki is the executive producer and celebrity judge of the show. The production director of the show is Simosh Sunuwar. The set of Chef Nepal is inside the Royal Thai Hospitality in Thimi, Bhaktapur.
According to the director, 80 people were selected from the applications received through online auditions for the program and broadcasted on the YouTube channel 'Chef Nepal'.
