The married life of Babita Baniyan, popularly known as 'Jerry', has broken down. She has advanced the divorce process with her husband Shankar Chhetri. Jerry got married to Shankar, an artist active in folk singing, two and a half years ago. They turned their five-year love affair into marriage.

However, the relationship was not going well after the marriage. Finally, they have come to the conclusion that the relationship will not continue. The divorce case between Babita Baniyan "Jerry" and Shankar is currently going on in Kathmandu District Court. Yesterday, both of them went to court to settle the case.

However, saying that some documents were insufficient, the court asked to bring them the next day. Now they have said that they will go to court on Sunday and formally separate. Babita Baniyan "Jerry" and Shankar have two-year-old daughters. After about 6 months of marriage, a daughter was born. After the divorce, there is an agreement that the daughter will stay with Jerry.

It is mentioned in their divorce file that the father can visit his daughter whenever he wants and needs it. The issue of the distribution of property is not clear. Babita Baniyan "Jerry" is from Gorkha and Shankar is from Nepalgunj. Both of them were living in Kathmandu by renting a flat. 

Sources said that they have been living separately for about a month. They had prepared for divorce before Dashain. However, the filing of the case was delayed after Babita Baniyan "Jerry" contracted dengue. Jerry is a very well-known and successful artist in Nepali folk songs, and Shankar was also able to establish himself in this field because of his relationship with him.

Babita Baniyan's "Jerry" and Shankar's live duet is a huge hit.  The couplet they sang in Krishna Kandel's Indreni Dohori evening has received wide views. Both of them were conducting their own Junkiri Dohri evening together. Shankar used to supervise it. As the dispute with her husband escalated, Jerry recently started her own sole proprietorship, Mana Dohori evening.  A few days ago, she inaugurated the double evening.

According to sources, they started to be suspicious of each other ever since they got married. Sources say that the root of the dispute is that Shankar is not faithful in his relationship with his wife.  The divorce case was filed by Shankar himself.
