Jackie Walorski, Indiana Congresswoman, Is Killed in Car Crash
Jackie Walorski, a Republican congresswoman from Indiana, passed away on Wednesday.
On Wednesday afternoon in Elkhart County, Indiana, Walorksi—who represented Indiana's 2nd Congressional district—was killed in an automobile accident.
The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office issued a statement to Fox News Digital stating, "On August 3, 2022, at approximately 12:32 PM the Elkhart County Sheriff's Office responded to a two-car accident on SR 19 south of SR 119." "A southbound sports utility vehicle and a northbound passenger automobile crashed head-on while traveling left of center. The injuries they sustained caused the deaths of all three occupants of the southbound car: 58-year-old Jackie Walorski, Elkhart, Indiana 27-year-old Zachery Potts, Mishawaka, Indiana Washington, DC resident Emma Thomson, 28 Edith was the only one in the car traveling in the north.
The Elkhart County Coroner's Office and the Elkhart County Sheriff's Office are conducting the crash investigation.
Emma Thomson and Zachery Potts were two more people killed in the collision who was employed by Walorski.

"The Elkhart County Sheriff's office has told Dean Swihart, Jackie's husband, that Jackie was killed in an automobile accident this afternoon. In order to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, she has gone home "The office of Walorski stated in a statement. "Please remember her family in your prayers. In addition to the tragic loss of Congresswoman Walorski, I also regret to inform you of the demise of Zach Potts and Emma Thomson, two devoted members of her staff. They embodied the ideal public servants who had a genuine concern for the work they did on behalf of the residents of Indiana's Second Congressional District."

Kevin McCarthy, a Republican from California and the House minority leader, tweeted about the news.
According to a press release from Louisiana Republican Rep. Steve Scalise, "I am horrified and grieved to learn about the awful loss of my great friend Jackie Walorksi and two of her colleagues." "Jackie played a crucial role in our conference by spending several years on my deputy whip team. She stood up for Indiana's citizens and will be remembered for her generosity, persistence, and dedication to assisting others."
The flags on Capitol Hill will be flown at half-staff in Walorski's honor, according to a tweet sent on Wednesday by Drew Hammill, a spokesman for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Walorski was initially chosen to represent Indiana's 2nd Congressional District in 2012. He previously worked on the House Ways and Means Committee. Previously, she held office in the state legislature three times.
