A Pakistani citizen who lives and works in Dubai had an act of compassion go viral on social media, and lately, the Crown Prince of Dubai called to thank him for it.
Details indicate that Abdul Ghafoor, a Pakistani national working as a delivery rider for Talabat, a company owned by Food Hero, in Dubai, was going about his regular business about two weeks ago when he noticed two large concrete blocks in the middle of a busy road in the Al-Quoz neighbourhood of Dubai.
Immediately parking his bike by the side of the road, Abdul Ghafoor(Delivery Boy) started to clear (unblock) the debacle blocks out of the busy crossing. While Abdul Ghafoor(Delivery Boy) waited for the automobiles and trucks to pass in order to remove the barricades, another civilian recorded Abdul Ghafoor from his vehicle.
The citizen uploaded Abdul Ghafoor's video to several social media sites, where it quickly gained popularity. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, was also drawn to the video.
The Prince first posted the footage to his official Instagram account, where he urged his more than 14 million followers to assist him to identify the individual, who turned out to be Abdul Ghafoor.
An act of goodness in Dubai to be praised. Can someone point me to this man?
Abdul Ghafoor was discovered by Dubai Police shortly after Sheikh Hamdan shared the video, and they verified his contact information before telling him that the Crown Prince of Dubai wanted to talk with him.
After obtaining the Pakistani national's information from Dubai Police, Sheikh Hamdan personally phoned Abdul Ghafoor to express gratitude for his noble act.
After getting in touch with Abdul Ghafoor, Sheikh Hamdan posted a picture of him with the caption:
The good man has been found. Thank you, Abdul Ghafoor, you are one of a kind. We will meet soon!
In this respect, Sheikh Hamdan thanked him and informed him that he is now abroad and will see him when he returns, according to Abdul Ghafoor.
Abdul Ghafoor claimed that when the Dubai Police informed him that the Crown Prince wants to speak with him, he was unable to believe what he was hearing. He still finds it hard to believe the Prince addressed a commoner like him. Abdul Ghafoor agreed, calling Sheikh Hamdan a very outstanding leader.
Additionally, Talabat, Abdul Ghafoor's company, described the occurrence as "heartwarming" and expressed gratitude to the citizen for filming one of their delivery riders.
Abdul Ghafoor would receive adequate compensation for his altruistic service, Talabat further stated. In order to let Abdul Ghafoor spend time with his 2-year-old kid, the firm has also given him a return ticket.
